Much like any creative endeavor, the crafting of a tablescape fed an inner core. When I was lost in the vegetation before me, the connection I forged with the foliage seemed to expand into a broader kinship with all. And in the intimacy of the experience, filled with affinity and gratitude, I saw the tablescapes as tokens of thanks- symbolic prayers of grace- silently offered before the partaking of the meal.
AN ALTER TO NATURE
Closer in spirit to landscapes than to centerpieces, the tree-scapes stand gracefully on my dining table- for days, weeks or even longer- sometimes as mere decorative elements; sometimes (with the addition of place-settings) as centerpieces, in anticipation of a meal.
