TABLESCAPES

The tablescapes were interludes of creative play. They fed the imagination and, in the process, revealed the extraordinary theater inherent in ordinary foliage...

They stemmed from the premise that not everything old or wilted is meant to be discarded without a second glance.

They advocated the belief that- even when dead- foliage is not less beautiful, significant or valid than it was in its former life.  To cling to the fleeting beauty of a flower at the height of its bloom, or prize a cut brunch only while it is fresh, blinds us to other forms of beauty, inherent in other phases of life.

Essentially gift of nature, the tablescapes relied more on imagination than monetary expense. And because they were executed with recycled foliage, they allowed for a freer, more flexible approach to entertaining.
